Apiary tours are available to school groups and others from late May to late September and provide an opportunity to see honeybees in action pollinating and collecting nectar from nearby plants. Tour hosts are beekeepers and among many other things, can explain the importance of native pollinators and honeybees to our food system, the foraging behavior of honeybees and how honeybees stay warm in Winter and cool in Summer. Tours may be held at Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation or Chicago Patchwork Farm on Chicago Avenue.

Note: Apiary tours are possible on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays only and are subject to beekeeper availability and weather conditions. Cost depends om the number of participants and school groups must have 2 adults present.
