Hands On Beekeeping Class

Hands-on classes are meant to be a follow up to the Winter lecture classes. They are one day long and give students practical experience with tools, lighting a smoker, hive inspection techniques and how to determine the health of a hive.

The class is held at Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation in Back of the Yards, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Lunch is potluck. Students will get further details after they sign up. Cost is $95.00.

We do accept students who have not taken a lecture class but highly recommend that all class participants read a beekeeping book before they come to the class in order to have some familiarity with beekeeping terms and honeybee behavior.

One full scholarship is available for each class date.
